Get to know each of my Capture One sets below. They save me a lot of time and knowing that I have presets as an option & ready to go during my shoot helps give me confidence on set. Sometimes they need minor tweaks but sometimes they are one-click and go (remember that there is not one preset that works perfectly on every image, and sometimes small tweaks are needed to make the presets work best for you). This is also a game-changer when working with clients because they LOVE to see a toned image. I am also able to add my preferred color toning on set, making an image close to what you would see retouched (without any image clean up). I was able to slow down my process, take a breather in-between shots and make better decisions. Switching over to Capture One vs relying on the viewfinder was a game-changer for me. It doesn’t matter whether I am shooting commercial work or personal work - I NEED to be able to see my images as they come through to the computer and I like to see color toning true to how I would see a final image. I am often asked what my true capture workflow is and I am always happy to share with other photographers! There are two parts to it a.) tethering (syncing my camera to a laptop or computer by means of tether cable) and b.) using a capture program (such as Capture One). Capture One is the gold standard in commercial image capture and professional color toning is paramount when working with clients on set.
